Camp Wildcat Hollow Pancake Breakfast (September 4, 2010)
On September 4th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m., Shawnee Trails Council will be hosting the first annual Wildcat Hollow Pancake Breakfast.  The cost per plate is $6.00, with all profits being used to purchase new tables and chairs for the dining facility and to cover the costs of badly needed kitchen renovations. This fundraiser is open to the general public and Scouting community.  If you or your child are not in Scouting, we will have volunteers at this event that will be able to assist you in registering for Scouting or to answer any questions you have about our programs.  For more information, please contact the marketing committee

2010 Fall Cub Scout Family Camping (October 2-3, 2010)
The second Cub Scout Camping opportunity is almost here!  The 2010 Fall Cub Scout Family Camp will be held on October 2nd through the 3rd, with family camping available overnight only. Registration begins on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. with activities beginning at 10:00 a.m.  at Camp Wildcat Hollow, located near Russellville (KY).  To download the registration form, click here.  Each youth participant must submit a completed Annual Health and Medical Record, available by clicking here.  For more information, contact the council's program committee.
Lincoln Heritage, Bluegrass and Shawnee Trails Councils' Centennial Jamboree (October 15-17, 2010)
As a part of the Centennial Celebration of Scouting, the three main councils that serve youth within the Commonwealth of Kentucky are working in close cooperation to bring Scouts from across the commonwealth to celebrate this special Scouting year.  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and will be held at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park near Louisville, Kentucky.  This jamboree offers an entire weekend of camping (click here for registration flier), but offers the opportunity for day passes for Saturday activities (click here for registration flier).  For more information, contact the council's centennial committee.  On-line registration is available by clicking here.



2010 Shawnee Trails Council Winter Camp
(December 28 through January 1, 2011)
Shawnee Trails Council will be hosting its first annual winter camp at Camp Roy C. Manchester, beginning December 28th through January 1st. Activities will begin around early afternoon on the 28th, with a range of Scouting activities, to include competitions, merit badge opportunities, and other fun activities on the 29th, 30th, and 31st, with a big New Year's Eve party the night of the 31st.  The program will conclude with breaking of camp and unit checkout by noon on the 1st of January.   Please check back often; additional information will be posted as made available by the council's program committee. Council Committees' Coordinated Meetings
(November 9, 2010/February 8, 2011/May 10, 2011)
Each quarter, the Council Committee hosts a council committees' coordinated meeting.  These meetings are a chance for members of the various council committees to meet together for a combined work and council reporting meeting to the Council President.  The meetings are held at the First United Methodist Church, located in Central City, Kentucky (click here for a map of Central City).  In addition to being an open meeting for members of the district's committees, interested leaders and parents are encouraged to attend.  For additional information, please contact your district's committee chair or commissioner.

2010 Council President's Unit Award
At the annual business meeting held in December 2009, the Council President, Mr. Phil Pfeffer, announced the implementation of this new unit award.  This award incorporates the 2010 Centennial Quality Unit Award, the National Council's benchmarks for quality units with areas that the council would like to see units improve.  Some of these areas include leader training, and participation and attendance at your district's roundtable.  For more information, click here.
