Leader Awards - District and Council Level
The information on this page has been adapted from numerous websites, including BSA Square Knot Guide, SageVentureBoy Scout Trail, and USScouts Project.  Training and key awards are based on completion of certain training requirements, tenure, and other requirements.  These awards can be downloaded and completed by the applicant and submitted through your district training committee chair or to the roundtable commissioner at the next district roundtable.


 District Committee Award
  District Committee's Key
Denotes three years served in a position on the district committee.  Requirements may vary depending on position, but all requirements basically amount to the creation and/or maintenance of a quality Scouting program. 
District Level Performance Award
  District Award of Merit
The District Award of Merit is awarded by a District Committee to a registered Scouter for district-level service to youth in the District. Generally, the award is presented for service to youth in excess of five years.

Award titles marked with an astrix (*) indicate that the requirements have been altered at the instruction of the council commissioner.

  Doctorate of Commissioner Science Knot

The Doctorate Commissioner Science Award is award to a Commissioner upon completion of a standardized program leading to the completion of a thesis or project and the award of the Doctorate of Commissioner Science from a College of Commissioner Science.  The College of Commissioner Science program is designed to have a commissioner learn, through a series of training classes, followed by work experiences to ensure a quality program throughout Scouting. This training will take a number of years to complete. The commissioner finalizes his/her training with an approved thesis or project for the benefit of the Scouting program. This assists both new commissioners as they learn, and seasoned commissioners as they train others.

     
     
     
 Council Level Performance Awards
  STC Silver Beaver Nomination Form
The Silver Beaver Award is presented upon action of the council executive board's Silver Beaver Nomination Committee for outstanding service to youth within the council or for outstanding longtime service to youth by a registered Scouter residing within the council.  Candidates for this award must be nominated; self-nomination automatically disqualifies the candidate.  All Silver Beaver nominations must be received at the council service center no later than December 15th.
