Webelos Woods - September 17-18, 2010
A reminder to mark your fall calendar for Webelos Woods! It will take place at Yellow Creek Park the weekend of September 17-18 and we want ALL District Webelos and Boy Scouts to participate! More information will be sent out as the date approaches.
2010 Cub Scout Olympics (September 18, 2010)
The Riverbend District is happy to announce the upcoming 2010 Cub Scout Olympics, to be held on September 18th at Yellow Creek Park, in Owensboro (KY). There will be events both for the individual and for packs. It's sure to be a fun and exciting event for both our Scouts and for parents as well. Roundtables for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing
On the first Thursday of each month, the most important district meeting for unit leaders and parents happens - it's the district roundtable! Roundtables are an important part of unit support provided by the district and invites all unit leaders and parents of Scouts within the units to attend. Roundtables are held at Settle United Methodist Church in Owensboro (KY) and begin at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Leigha Taylor, the district executive.
District Committee Meetings
On the 4th Thursday of each month, the Riverbend District Committee holds its monthly meetings. The committee meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. at the council service center in Owensboro (KY). The district committee's functions are to plan and implement program support for the units within the district, to include district events planning, creating recruitment plans, fund raising events, and other essential functions designed to support Scouting within the district. 2010 Council President's Unit Award
At the annual business meeting held in December 2009, the Council President, Mr. Phil Pfeffer, announced the implementation of this new unit award. This award incorporates the 2010 Centennial Quality Unit Award, the National Council's benchmarks for quality units with areas that the council would like to see units improve. Some of these areas include leader training, and participation and attendance at your district's roundtable. For more information, click here.
