Scouting is alive and well in the area served by the Shawnee Trails Council. As part of the council's 2009-2010 council marketing campaign, we decided to help spread the word about the impact Scouting has in southcentral and western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and South Fulton, Tennessee.

To help achieve this goal, one page of the council's website is now devoted to consolidating internet based news media reports about our council's Scouts and leaders.  These articles are contained on the "Scouting in the News" page which can be accessed through the navigation pane on the left.

To assist our news media serving our council, we have created a second page, "Council Press Releases," which contains an archive of press releases that have been approved by the council's Scout Executive for publication.

To help spread the word about our numerous activities and last-minute information, our council has started sending out e-mail updates to those subscribing to this service.  A six month archive of these updates can be found on the "Council Updates" page.

The council does publish two monthly newsletters. Trail Signs is published bi-monthly beginning with the November-December 2009 edition.  An archive for the current and past editions of this newsletter are available in the right navigation pane.

The second council newsletter, The Arrowhead, is published monthly and is dedicated to providing program support to the council's commissioner staff.  A link to the archives of this newsletter is included in the right navigation pane.
