Are you ready to become a part of Shawnee Trails Council 21st Century Wood Badge history?? Yes? Then you’re ready to be a part of Wood Badge!

This will be the first 21st Century Wood Badge course held in the spring; the first Course Director who used to be a Beaver; and, well you’ll have to attend the course to find out the other firsts!

SR 918 will be our Wood Badge course in 2008!! The course will be held 2-4 and 17-19 May 2008.

Wood Badge for the 21st Century is advanced training that will give adult leaders the skills to make a difference. The course brings together adults from all areas of Scouting (Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing, as well as the District and Council) who want to become better leaders. Wood Badge training provides a common foundation of leadership skills to be used throughout all program areas. Wood Badge teaches adults leadership skills over two full weekends at Camps Roy C Manchester and Wildcat Hollow. Participants will leave the course with skills that will help them not only become better leaders in the Scouting program, but also with skills that are useful in all parts of their life.

Wood Badge is centered around five central themes:

  • LIVING THE VALUES
  • BRINGING THE VISION TO LIFE
  • MODELS FOR SUCCESS
  • TOOLS OF THE TRADE
  • LEADING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

It doesn't matter whether you have been in Scouting one year or ten, you will learn new skills that will help you build teams in any organization, both inside and outside Scouting. You'll learn how to be a more effective leader and to build a quality program for youth. You will live the magic of Scout leadership training as envisioned by the founder of Scouting, Lord Robert Baden-Powell.
If you’re up to the challenge for the “funnest” and most meaningful training you’ve ever had, complete the registration form send it in!
